A Waikato man has appeared in court charged with arson and murdering his 57-year-old stepfather, Allan Davies, whose body was found in a burned-out Ngaruawahia home.
Jamie Stewart Davies, 30, of Raglan, waved to the public gallery in the Waikato District Court before being remanded in custody until October 18.
Police say Allan Davies, who was recently convicted on historic sex charges, had been seriously injured in an attack before the fire.
