Two products - Gregg's Rich Steak Sauce and Chubb, Quell and Flameguard dry powder fire extinguishers - are being recalled from sales outlets, says Consumer New Zealand.
The Gregg's sauce may contain small metal fragments, the institute says.
The recall affects the 575g block pack/carton, with a best-before date of 25/06/11, sold through supermarkets and small retail stores throughout the North Island.
Consumers are advised not to consume the affected product and to call 0800-467-226 or email csc@cerebos greggs.co.nz to arrange a full refund.
The Chubb, Quell and Flameguard dry powder fire extinguishers do not meet the filling capacity requirement of New Zealand Standards, the institute says.
As a result, they may not release a sufficiently steady stream of powder.
The recall affects:
* Chubb, Quell and Flameguard 1kg, with serial numbers from SA313317 to SA683212.
* Chubb, Quell and Flameguard 1kg, with serial numbers from CQ148950 to CQ823764.
* Chubb and Flameguard 1.5kg, with serial nos from SA318253 to SA643399.
* Chubb, Flameguard and Quell 2.3kg, serial nos from SA321385 to SA669428.
* Chubb and Flameguard 2.5kg, with serial nos from SA306449 to SA662537.
* Chubb and Flameguard 4.5kg, with serial nos from SA316897 to SA677860.
Consumer NZ says buyers should check the serial number at the base of their extinguishers and return them to the sales outlet for a certified replacement.
