Emergency services have closed State Highway 8 in Roxburgh after flooding caused damaged to a culvert.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and defer any unnecessary travel, a police spokesperson said.
The road is expected to remain closed overnight and diversions have been put in place on SH8 at Millers Flat and north of Roxburgh.
