The Desert Road has cleared after a truck crash closed the central North Island highway overnight through to mid-morning.
Police said no-one was injured in the crash at Rangipo, at a point known as 'The Three Sisters', when the incident occurred after 2am.
It was a complex operation to recover the truck and the road was closed between Rangipo and Waiouru until mid-morning.
All traffic was diverted to State Highway 46 or State Highway 49 via National Park.
