KEY POINTS:
The stars may have had a tough time peeking through the clouds at last night's Starlight Symphony, but the music was fabulous, and despite the damp afternoon, thousands packed their picnics and headed to the Auckland Domain.
Classical highlights included the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, soprano Andrea Creighton and the SkyCity Massed Choir, while NZ Idols, Boh Runga, The Lady Killers and Frankie Stevens stepped up the beat. John Campbell and Carol Hirschfeld hosted the concert and Beatrice Faumuina danced under the stars, leading Brian Jones in the annual audience waltz.
