A wooden X-wing Stars Wars starfighter baby rocker has sold at auction today, with hundreds of dollars being donated to Starship Children's Hospital.
Steve Coupe of Steve's Wooden Toys hand-crafted the unique take on the timeless rocking horse out of pine, macrocarpa and rimu.
Complete with a removable R2-D2 co-pilot, it attracted almost 20,000 views on its Trade Me auction site.
It attracted two bids, with the winner taking it home for $955.
Mr Coupe said he needed $400 to cover his costs and fund another project, and the remainder was donated to Starship Children's Hospital.
