Staff morale has improved at Kaitaia Hospital since 24-hour, seven-day-a-week surgery was cut seven months ago, a report says.
However, the report said major problems had been identified with the steering committee appointed to oversee the transition.
The progress report by an independent review team, set up last year to examine health services at the hospital, praised the progress made by the Northland District Health Board, but raised concerns about the make-up of a steering committee.
