A post-mortem exam is being carried out today on the body of the Iraqi woman stabbed to death in Wellington yesterday.
Police were called to the Strathmore address late in the morning but the woman died at the scene a short time after being wounded.
She has been formally identified as 42-year-old Eman Hurmiz.
Detective Inspector Stephen Vaughan says a man aged in his 50s is in a critical condition in Wellington Hospital's Intensive Care Unit - also with stab wounds.
He says the scene exam is continuing today.
