A man stabbed in the chest during a midnight incident in a central Auckland park has been released from hospital and charged with assault.
The 21-year-old is accused of being part of a group of five who are each charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The alleged victim, a 22-year-old man, has been left with an "extremely large scar'' on his face from being sliced from his temple to the jaw in the incident.
The man who received a chest injury was bailed by police last night after being arrested and charged.
Detective Sergeant Scott Hunter said the man was bailed due to his serious injury and subsequent major surgery at Auckland City Hospital after the October 5 incident.
