A man suffered a suspected punctured lung after being stabbed during a fight in Napier this morning, police say.
Police said were called to the scene of a fight on the corner of Venables Avenue and Riverbend Road in the suburb of Maraenui about 6.30am, a spokeswoman said.
A 19-year-old was arrested over the fight and was helping police with their inquiries.
Police said officers found a second man after he sought medical treatment for a stab wound to his chest.
He was taken to Hawkes Bay Hospital where he was in a stable condition.
Police appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
