St Matthew's Collegiate celebrated a thrilling 45-44 win over Wai rarapa College in their Netball Wairarapa premier one match played at the Genesis Recreation
Centre, Masterton, on Friday night.
Up 43-40 with just a couple of minutes remaining on the clock, St
Matthew's had to weather a determined Wairarapa College revival
which saw them level at 43-43 andagain at 44-44. It was then a matter of who would get the vital goal. St Matthew's rose to the occasion.
By contrast the other Friday night fixture was a one-sided
affair, with the all-conqueringHarcourts winning by a comprehensive 72-16.
The only premier one fixture at the Colombo road courts on Saturday was that between Pioneer and Carterton New World Legends.
Pioneer continued their run of form with a comfortable 54-33 win.
