St John under financial pressure

St John Ambulance has confirmed it is under financial pressure and stations are sometimes closed while staff respond to emergencies.

Confirmation of last Thursday's article in the Aucklander was provided in writing by northern regional operations manager Gary Salmon.

However, Mr Salmon has complained that a detailed response provided to the Aucklander was not included in the Herald version of the article.
