Squashed mandarins block Napier to Taupo road

Tonnes of mandarins spilled when a truck rolled on the Napier to Taupo road this morning reducing the road to one lane.

A Napier police spokesman told NZPA the truck rolled at 7am on a dangerous bend about 1km south of the Summit Tearooms from Te Haroto, 69km northwest of Napier.

No other vehicle was involved and the two people in the truck were uninjured.

Police and Transit New Zealand staff were at the scene.
