The wet and cold weather of the past week is out the door this weekend.
While some areas can expect showers, many places will be bathed in sunshine as we welcome daylight savings.
MetService meteorologist Stephen Glassey said much of New Zealand will be cloudy or fine, while areas east of the main ranges in both islands would be in for showers.
"Tomorrow it's a little bit different. Eastern areas should gradually clear up but we are forecasting some showers to develop over parts of the North Island, especially during the afternoon," he said.
"The South Island should be mainly fine."
