Sport has been a major focus during the first term this year at Solway College with interhouse swimming and athletics competitions topping the calendar.
Principal Beth Rogerson said sport at the school always had been an inclusive event that drew together pupils, parents and staff.
"One of the very special things about sport at Solway College is that every student takes part, and even the staff and parents join in with some of the activities like the swimming relay races and the wheelbarrow race,' she said.
"Each house has to write and perform their own house chant for the athletics competition, which results in the girls pulling out all the stops, as competition is always fierce for those precious house points.
The sports events are so important that many of the girls remain boarding an extra night to ensure they are well rested before the big days."
