A 12-year-old was flown to Starship hospital after a suspected spinal injury from playing football.
Auckland's Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew the boy from Matakana, north of Auckland, shortly before 6pm yesterday.
Helicopter spokesman John Hooper said the boy fell during a game of football.
"It was a suspected spinal injury."
The youngster was in a moderate condition, he said.
