A spill on a motorway south of Auckland has forced two lanes to close and traffic to back up.
The lane closure of two southbound lanes on State Highway 1 at south Otara was caused by a spill, police said, and "may take some time" to clear.
"The area affected is around the Highbrook offramp area," Inspector Kerry Watson of the northern police communications centre said.
