A chemical spill at Dunedin's Speights Brewery yesterday has been cleared and the area is now safe.
Part of central Dunedin were cordoned off last night as firefighters worked to clear the spill - about 300 litres of nitrobrite, a highly corrosive chemical which was reacting with the container it was stored in.
Firefighters diluted the substance and shifted it to another container last night, a Fire Service spokeswoman said.
The area is now safe and no-one was injured because of the spill.
