Broadcaster Kate Hawkesby says inquiries about a $400 speeding ticket she incurred on her way to work this week are "boring beyond measure".
Hawkesby copped the ticket on her way to Newstalk ZB on Wednesday morning and posted a comment about it on her Twitter page at 9.24am.
"$400 speeding ticket on way to work. Ouch. That old 'there was no one on the road' excuse just doesn't cut it," she wrote.
A police source said a fine of $400 would be issued to someone travelling 36 to 40km/h over the signposted speed limit.
Hawkesby, who works as a newsreader, refused to talk about the ticket with the Herald on Sunday, saying she had already discussed it "on air".
"If the story is just about the ticket... it's just tabloid bullshit. It's boring beyond measure," she snapped on Friday.
