Specialists from the Wellington police Serious Crash Unit will tonight survey a stretch of Cambridge Terrace where a woman was killed in a hit-and-run.
Amy Edward-Mintorn, 23, was hit at about 1.40am on Sunday by at least one car as she crossed a street known for being a magnet for boy racers.
Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Cotter, Wellington CIB, said the crash unit would spend a couple of hours taking measurements to draw up a survey of the scene.
He said there would be intermittent lane closures, especially in the Vivian Street/Cambridge Terrace and College Street/Cambridge Terrace intersections during the survey period.
Police today visited all businesses on Cambridge and Kent Terraces to seek security camera footage for images which may help with the investigation.
Mr Cotter said 15 CIB, uniform and special crash unit investigators were working on the investigation, which he described as a "tragic death".
Three vehicles -- a red Toyota Trueno, a white Subaru coupe and a silver/grey Subaru -- have been seized for forensic examination.
"We're making good progress but we still need to talk with people who were in the area around the time Amy was hit and killed," Mr Cotter said.
"We're especially interested in hearing from people who were in vehicles travelling behind the three cars that we've seized. "
