A multimillion-dollar mansion - and scene of an alleged double homicide - is up for sale.
The four-storey Stilwell Rd property in Mt Albert, where two Chinese men were stabbed to death in January, is being sold by mortgagee tender.
Real-estate firm Barfoot & Thompson is marketing the property as a "very special property" and "an absolutely gorgeous, stately home".
It is also the site of Cheng Qi Wang's alleged murder of Zhuo "Michael" Wu, 44, and Yishan "Tom" Zhong, 53. Wang claims he was acting in self defence and will defend the charges. The next hearing is scheduled for the High Court at Auckland in December.
The house was been put up for sale by the Michelle Trustee Company, owned by Wang's estranged wife Zhixue Chen. Built in January 1929, and with a valuation of $2.3 million, the four-bedroom house has panoramic views of Auckland. The mansion once belonged to property investor Barrie Cardon, who bought it from New Zealand Forestry Products founder Sir David Henry.
