The Government is to spend an extra $5.2 million over four years to improve the education of special needs students.
Associate Education Minister Lianne Dalziel said next week's Budget would include more money for the professional development of teachers and best practice research for schools with special needs students.
The funding would involve researchers studying schools and then passing on what was learnt to teachers.
