She may be only 10 months old but Mama Marmalade has already given birth to a litter of kittens this summer.

Now, after fulfilling her motherly duties, the ginger and white domestic short-hair is looking for a new home.

SPCA feline attendant Nicole Morine-Sparrow says Mama Marmalade is a shy cat but once she becomes familiar with a new face, she is an affectionate companion.

She would suit a quiet home with an owner who has previous cat experience and the time and patience to settle her into a new environment.

"She needs the confidence to let her personality bloom and an owner who knows what to look for if she becomes nervous," says Mrs Morine-Sparrow.
