General is looking for a new home where he can spend his twilight years.

SPCA feline attendant Justine Somerville says the black and brown lop-ear, who was found in Manukau, has a friendly nature that would make him a suitable addition for any family.

"He may even be great company for a lonely older female bunny," says Ms Somerville.

SPCA staff are not sure of his age but estimate he is at least 3 years old.

The large bunny, who has big brown eyes, enjoys eating hay, grass and fresh vegetables.

All SPCA bunnies are temperament-tested, checked by a vet, de-sexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
