Police have received reports of 35 road crashes from Turangi to the Far North since 6am today.
The Police Northern Communication Centre said the minor crashes were mainly centred around the Auckland region, which had been experiencing its first significant rain for some time.
Police warned that roads were greasy and motorists should take extra time and care.
