KEY POINTS:
Auckland's Southern Motorway has re-opened after a five-car smash and a flipped trailer closed northbound between the Manurewa and Orams Road off-ramps.
There were no injuries in the accident.
Inspector William Taylor had said there would be delays and drivers were encouraged to take alternative routes.
In a separarte incident, broken glass closed two lanes on the same motorway until about 9.20 this morning.
Inspector Taylor said a load of sheet glass was dropped and emergency services partially closed the southbound motorway between Alfriston and Papakura to clean up the mess.
One lane heading south was open but delays were expected, Mr Taylor said.
