South Wairarapa headed the scoreboards at this year's Wairarapa Mathematics Competition, with Kuranui College taking first place in the Years 9 and 10 divisions, and Greytown School and Kahutara School winning Years 5 and 6 South, and Year 7 respectively.
Hadlow School won the top spot for the Year 5 and Year 6 North and Year 8 leagues.
Over 150 teams of pupils attended the event over the two days at Wairarapa College school hall where they worked together to solve various mathematical problems and equations in an effort to win prizes.
Teams were rewarded for winning first in their round, as well as overall in their Year groups.
President of the Wairarapa Mathematics Association Leigh Kube said "it is great to see some of the smaller schools such as Opaki, Tinui, Wainuioru ... being represented".
