Another jolt shook the top of the South Island awake this morning.
Geonet reported a magnitude 4.1 earthquake at 6.09AM, 20 kilometres east of Seddon.
It had a shallow depth of just six kilometres, with its intensity described as strong.
The tremor was followed at 6.22AM by a weak 2.4 magnitude shake, five kilometres east of the town.
