The Christchurch RSA is putting out the message that ANZAC poppies sold in the South Island have all been made in this country.
The New Zealand RSA agreed to import Chinese poppies from 2012, but a large number of North Island RSAs have chosen to use Chinese poppies this year.
Christchurch RSA vice president Pete Dawson says that's not the case in the south.
"Everybody in the South Island when they make a donation for a poppy this week for ANZAC day on Monday they will be receiving a New Zealand made poppy."
Pete Dawson says if people don't buy poppies because they think they're made in China, the only people missing out are the veterans.
