Police are "following a strong line of enquiry" after a Kiwibank branch in South Auckland was robbed today.

The Otahuhu PostShop and Kiwibank on Great South Rd was robbed by a man about 11.30am, said a police spokeswoman.

The spokeswoman said the man was not believed to have a weapon.

She said he entered the branch and demanded money.

He left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

"Police are now following a strong line of enquiry and have located a person of interest," said the spokeswoman.

One man said he saw a large police presence at the store, which was closed after the incident.

Kiwibank have been approached for comment.
