The son of Christchurch's infamous "Black Widow" murderer has appeared in court charged with being the driver involved in a fatal crash.
Adam Kearns, 24, is accused of having drugs in his system when friend Nicholas Brent Morrison, 24, died in a crash with two parked cars on Wairakei Rd in Christchurch at about 7.45pm on December 9 last year. Kearns is accused of being the driver.
The son of convicted murderer Helen Milner, dubbed the Black Widow, who was sentenced to life in prison for murdering her husband, Philip Nisbet, in 2009 by poisoning him with the allergy drug Phenergan, appeared at Christchurch District Court today.
Kearns faces charges of causing death while driving with drugs in his blood, and dangerous driving causing death and injury to a 25-year-old female passenger.
He was remanded in custody until next Wednesday.
