The father of a British man viciously attacked after a stag night in Napier says his son is not a troublemaker.
Stuart Martin, 29, was set upon by three young men while walking back to his accommodation along Gloucester St in Taradale last Friday morning.
His condition has been upgraded from critical to serious. His parents arrived from Northumberland on Tuesday and his father, Cameron Martin, said his son was "marvellous" and would not have provoked the attack.
Three 17-year-olds were further remanded in custody yesterday on charges of aggravated assault.
