KEY POINTS:
A New Zealander, Assistant Commissioner Peter Marshall, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police.
He will replace fellow Kiwi Superintendent Graham Emery, who has held the position since 2005.
Mr Marshall will take up the position this month.
