It appears the case of the missing West Coast bus shelter has been solved.
The nation has been on tenterhooks since the great Granity bus shelter theft was reported last week.
A desperate police appeal for information revealed that Solid Energy had built the shelter for its workers when they leased the land.
Sergeant Malcolm Lamont says the energy company left the shelter behind when their lease ended so the land owner took possession of it.
He then on-sold it, but to whom is unclear.
