Christchurch police and Burnham army camp authorities are investigating a brawl involving soldiers and civilians in the city last week.
TV3 tonight reported up to 50 people were involved in the brawl in a Riccarton pub carpark, with the soldiers performing a haka before it.
One soldier and two civilians were arrested but police said more would have been taken in if they had had the staff, TV3 reported.
Major Mike Duncan said the army viewed the incident seriously.
"Obviously anything that involves the discipline of our soldiers or the actions of our soldiers in town or anywhere is very serious," he said.
"If they're (the soldiers) found to be at fault then definitely we will take it very seriously."
