A US veteran is suing film-maker Michael Moore for US$85 million ($134 million), alleging he used snippets of a television interview without his permission to falsely portray him as anti-war in Fahrenheit 9/11.
Sergeant Peter Damon lost both arms in the war in Iraq.
While being interviewed by NBC, Sergeant Damon was asked about a new painkiller the military was using on wounded veterans.
He says the film implied he voiced a complaint about the war effort when he was actually complaining about "the excruciating type of pain" that comes with his injury.
