What caused a 13-month-old baby to swell up and break out in body blisters last week was unlikely to be soil contamination, the Auckland City Council says.
Auckland woman Gemma Wood suspected her daughter B'Elana may have reacted to contamination at the site of Freemans Bay Early Learning Centre.
But Deputy Mayor Bruce Hucker, who chaired a private meeting last night for centre staff and parents, said the risks to children at the centre "were virtually zero".
The Woods, who attended the meeting, accepted that.
