New Zealand kept Cuba winless by beating them 6-2 in their fourth-round Olympic women's softball match on Wednesday.
The White Sox opened with two runs in the top of the fourth innings when a two-base hit by Melanie Hulme brought home Kiri Shaw and Cindy Potae.
The Cubans replied the next innings via runs to Vilma Alvarez and Yamila Flor.
New Zealand made the game safe when Hulme, Jackie Smith, Rhonda Hira and Gina Weber all scored in the seventh and final innings.
The result gives New Zealand two wins from four matches and they will need to win at least two of their three remaining games against Italy, the United States and Japan to advance to the semifinals.
