LONDON - Fourth division Wycombe Wanderers shocked Premier League strugglers Charlton Athletic 1-0 today to reach the English League Cup soccer semifinals.
Jermaine Easter, who has scored in every round, got the winner after 35 minutes with a fine shot from outside the area after Charlton keeper Scott Carson had made several saves.
Wycombe, who reached the FA Cup semifinals in 2001, had already beaten Fulham in this season's League Cup. They are managed by former Celtic midfielder Paul Lambert, who won the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund on 1997.
Liverpool's quarterfinal with Arsenal was postponed because of heavy fog at Anfield. Newcastle United host Chelsea and the second division's bottom side Southend United visit Tottenham Hotspur in Wednesday's quarterfinals.
