An indoor ski park is facing thousands of dollars in fines after a worker's arm was crushed while clearing snow.
Snowplanet in north Auckland has been fined $42,000 and ordered to pay reparations of $9,500 in relation to the incident which took place last April.
The worker, Christopher Hill, had been clearing snow from a conveyor belt when the glove on his left hand and his jacket got caught, dragging his arm into the machine.
He had to be cut free from the machine and needed surgery.
Snowplanet has since pleaded guilty to failing to take all practical steps to ensure its worker's safety.
