MetService has issued a flurry of snow warnings for South Island roads.
Snow showers are expected on Lindis Pass through until this evening, with up to three centimetres accumulating near the summit.
Snow on the higher parts of Arthur's Pass should clear for a time this morning, but may return later until evening.
On Porter's Pass, 10 centimetres of snow could start accumulating down to 400 metres today, with lesser falls possible down to 300 metres.
And snow could also affect the road east of the tunnel at Milford Sound, but should clear west of the tunnel later this morning.
