Six fire trucks and a cherry picker were called to an Event Cinemas in Auckland earlier today after smoke was seen coming from a sign on the building.
Northern fire communications shift manager Scott Osmond said fire services were called to the Events Cinema on Queen Street about 12.30pm, after reports of smoke coming from a sign.
"It turned out to be a small amount of smoke coming from a ventilation chimney in Carl's Jr. It was nothing abnormal."
Mr Osmond said six fire trucks and a cherry picker were called to the scene.
No one was evacuated from the building, he said.
