Frustrated at having no job or support a former Pahiatua man, 20, went on a window smashing spree in the town, causing damage worth $5000.
He has been referred to Restorative Justice so he can apologise to his victims - the store owners.
Appearing before Judge Jan Kelly in Masterton District Court this week, Gary Maioha Mita, now of Masterton, pleaded guilty to six counts of wilful damage.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Garry Wilson said about 1am on August 7 Mita picked up a stone, throwing it through the window of Carters Tyres. Then as he walked past the BNZ building he picked up a rock throwing it through the front windows of the bank before doing the same thing with windows at Property Brokers, Managh Electrical, New World and Pahiatua Upholstery.
When stopped by police he admitted breaking the windows saying "he did it out of frustration having no job and an unsupportive family", Mr Wilson said.
