Save A small earthquake shook the lower North Island this morning.
It struck 10 kilometres northwest of Castlepoint, on the Wairarapa coast. The quake happened at 10.16am at a depth of 79km, Geonet said.
No damage was reported as a result of the magnitude 4.5 event.
Fifty-one people who registered as
having felt the quake described it as being light to moderate in strength.
