Small quake hits town of Raetihi

An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale has hit the town of Raetihi - west of Ohakune.

The quake had a focal depth of 130km and struck 30km north of the township at 10.14pm last night.

The quake was felt as far south as the Wellington suburb of Karori, according to the GNS website.
