A moderate-sized 4.27kg snapper was big enough to land Stratford angler Daryl Willis the $50,000 overall first prize in the five-day Lion Red Snapper Classic fishing contest on Ninety Mile Beach.
The contest, with $250,000 in prizes and giveaways, finished on Saturday. It attracted nearly 1000 surfcasting anglers to the Far North venue.
