Bulldozers were called in to clear two big slips at Oropi as Tauranga was drenched by nearly 81mm of rain over three days.
In a spectacularly wet end to June, more than half the month's total rainfall occurred in the final couple of days - keeping contractors busy unblocking drains. Many weekend sports fixtures were cancelled.
The Papamoa Hills and the Kaimai Ranges appeared to get the heaviest downpours. Te Puke got 160mm of rainfall since Friday morning.
The biggest slip happened above Oropi roundabout on Saturday when the lip of a bank gave way. Residents heard the thump of mud hitting the road. It took an hour to clear the roundabout.
