Slips cut off Akaroa

Akaroa is tonight cut off following multiple landslides on State Highway 75.

Inspector David Fremaux said the slips were near Little River, 55km southeast of Christchurch and 25km northwest of Akaroa, and there were no detours.

The first slip was at 1.30pm and was followed by several more.

Contractors were working to reopen the road as soon as possible.
