The mother of an Auckland teenager who died after a fight at rugby training is facing a new charge over the shooting of her husband.
Mona Dudley, 39, appeared in the Waitakere District Court today where an assault charge was withdrawn by police.
In its place is a charge of injuring her husband, Brent, under circumstances that if he died, she would have been guilty of manslaughter.
It carries a maximum sentence of three years' jail and relates to an incident on December 27, where Dudley is accused of shooting her Mr Dudley in the chest.
Dudley did not enter a plea and, at the request of her lawyer, Ashley Thomas, was bailed until next month when she will appear before a judge.
