Slain Otorohanga grandmother Clare Bremner will be farewelled alongside her son Ross, who fatally stabbed his mother and critically injured his father Keith last week.
Ross' body was found four days later alongside two others in a remote Waitomo district bach.
Bremner family neighbour and long time friend, Dennis Kaumoana, said mother and son would be farewelled at a private joint funeral at St Bride's Anglican Church in Otorohanga on Tuesday next week.
It is not known if Keith Bremner will attend the funeral. He remains in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit.
However, Kaumoana said Jo Kukutai, the daughter of Te Kuiti couple Mona Tuwhangai and Maurice O'Donnell, killed by Ross Bremner at their Kawhia bach after the attack on his parents, was expected to attend Tuesday's service.
Kaumoana is related to Tuwhangai and told the Herald he had asked Clare and Keith Bremner's daughters, Loren and Kylie, if Kukutai could attend the funeral.
"I asked if I could bring her, as a closure to what has happened."
The elderly couple's family also wanted to reiterate they felt no animosity to Ross Bremner or his family, Kaumoana said.
